I capped this a while ago, but nonetheless, Strictly Ballroom (also titled Dancing Hero elsewhere) is how I discovered Baz Luhrmann, who's Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet I also adore. The director himself has background as a dancer which I've always found so evident in his films by how dance is being captured and presented. I'm quite damn sure this film is what started my obsession and love for red curtains in films.
